George Lindsey, better known to “The Andy Griffith Show,” “Mayberry RFD” and “Hee Haw” fans as Goober Pyle, died Sunday after a short illness. He was 83. Lindsey was a likeable, smart guy from the South who became famous playing a loveable dope from the South. full story
